3 Most Important Elements of A Blog Template
A blog post typically covers a specific topic or query, is informative in nature, ranges from 600 to 2,000+ words, and contains media types such as an image or a video. We want to post as regularly as possible, which is why careful planning and organization are necessary for our process. Our main goal is to provide value to our readers and produce short and easier-to-digest blog posts.
Through intensive research and experience, the JWay team was able to create Blog Templates that efficiently deliver blog posts that meet our requirements. In this article, we will share the three most important elements in creating our blog templates.
Blog Type
There are so many things to write about, but which type of content is actually useful for our audience? Through this dilemma, our team decided to create blog templates to help us determine the blog types that we are going to use. Essentially, we were able to narrow down our blog types into five categories:
- List Post
- Case Study
- Comparison
- Educational
- Guide
I’ve been blogging for years and by far, my favorite blog type to write is the List Post as it is more structured compared to others. Comparison is very useful in terms of conversion as it makes it easier for the reader to decide to take on a product or service.
Blog Title
Blog Titles are what enable readers to take interest in blog posts, which is why titles or headlines are probably the most essential part of content writing. In fact, 80% of the website visitors will be able to see a blog post title, but only 20% of people will actually click through and read the article. Knowing this, we had to create effective blog title templates. We have a specific pattern for each blog type, but here’s an example for our List Post:
List Post = The number of items + timeframe + benefit
There are many reasons why using numbers in titles generates more traffic, such as having some measure of structure and the article being easy to follow from beginning to end.
Blog Format
Blog templates also allow us to follow a pattern of storytelling which is essential in keeping our readers interested in what we might want to share. Here’s an example of how we are writing our Guide Post:
